Just as Travis has evolved over time from its roots as an industrial hub to a residential community, so too has our approach to pain management evolved with the latest medical advancements.
We specialize in addressing complex conditions such as osteoarthritis of the hip, hip bursitis, sympathetic pain, pelvic pain, abdominal pain, tailbone pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, neck pain, hand and wrist pain, lower back pain, and more. Our expertise extends across the entire spine – from the cervical spine to the thoracic spine and down to the lumbar spine including sacrum and coccyx.

Advanced Diagnostic Techniques and Treatments

Our team uses progressive diagnostic techniques to identify the source of your musculoskeletal issues. Whether you’re dealing with shoulder joints or hip joints discomfort or suffering from hand and wrist or foot and ankle joints pains – we have solutions that can help improve your quality of life.
We offer a variety of advanced treatments such as Stellate Ganglion Block for sympathetic mediated pain relief and Lumbar Sympathetic Block for lower extremity issues. For those suffering from coccydynia or tailbone discomforts, we provide Ganglion Impar block procedures.

Innovative Pain Relief Options

At NY Pain Solutions, we also recognize the potential benefits of medical marijuana for certain types of chronic pain. Our doctors are knowledgeable about when this option may be appropriate as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
For patients seeking alternatives to traditional painkiller medications or those who have not found relief through conventional methods, we offer cutting-edge options like Ultrasound-Guided Trigger Point Injections and Ultrasound-Guided Tendon Injections. We also utilize regenerative medicine techniques such as Trigger Point Injections With Platelets Rich Plasma.

Minimally Invasive Procedures for Maximum Relief

Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology allowing us to perform minimally invasive procedures like Vertiflex for lumbar spinal stenosis relief or RACZ Caudal Neurolysis for scar tissue removal around nerves in the lower spine. We also offer Percutaneous Discectomy for herniated disc treatment without open surgery.
For those suffering from severe spinal conditions requiring surgical intervention, our team is skilled in performing Lumbar Endoscopic Discectomy and Kyphoplasty – both aimed at relieving pressure on spinal nerves while stabilizing the spine.

Comprehensive Care for Sciatica and Other Spinal Conditions

Sciatica can be debilitating but with our targeted treatments like epidurals and facet injections we aim to reduce inflammation and alleviate leg pain associated with sciatic nerve compression. Our radiofrequency ablations provide long-term relief for chronic back and neck conditions by disrupting nerve conduction pathways causing pain.
For joint-related issues such as sacroiliac dysfunction we offer sacroiliac injections while peripheral nerve stimulator implants can be an effective solution for widespread neuropathic pains including peripheral neuropathy or diabetic neuropathy.

Diagnostic Excellence at NY Pain Solutions

Accurate diagnosis is key in crafting an effective treatment plan which is why we employ EMG/NCS (Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Studies) to assess nerve damage accurately. This allows us to pinpoint issues within your nervous system that may be contributing to your discomfort.

What Our Customers Say

I come here with some neck and back issues for Pain management. The wait room is very small so they only sit patients in the main area. The family is expected to sit in another area. The wait time is so long for injections. Be prepared to spend most of your day there on an empty stomach. Dr Sekhar is the best. He consults you and answers any concerns you may have. After the procedure, they give you little juices. After sitting for awhile the doctor comes and evaluates your pain to see if the injection worked. You make your follow up appointment and you're done.

-Tajuana

I saw Dr.Kogan at Pain Solutions for my spinal stenosis. He administered epidurals with anesthesia, so Dr. Sekhar had to work on that which meant I had 2 md's billing. Oddly enough, when I received the same epidural from Dr. Kogan at his other location (NYU Langone - Forest Hills) where Dr. Sekhar did not practice, Dr. Kogan administered the epidural by himself without the use of anesthesia. There were no problem, and since there was no anesthesia to recover from, I was free to leave right away. I submitted my insurance information but they did not bother to get clearance. It turns out my insurance was only accepted at the NYU-Langone location. But I never received a bill.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

What qualifications should I look for in an interventional pain management doctor?
FAQ Answer: Look for a board-certified interventional pain management specialist with experience in treating your specific type of pain. They should have completed a residency in pain medicine, anesthesia, or neurology, followed by a fellowship in pain management. Additionally, check for state licensure and consider their approach to patient care, including the use of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
How does an interventional pain management doctor differ from other pain specialists?
FAQ Answer: An interventional pain management doctor uses minimally invasive techniques such as nerve blocks, steroid injections, and advanced procedures like spinal cord stimulation to treat pain. Unlike other specialists who may focus on medication management or physical therapy, interventional specialists are trained to perform procedures that directly target the source of pain.
What conditions do interventional pain management doctors treat?
FAQ Answer: These specialists treat a variety of conditions, including chronic back and neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), neuropathic pain, and more. They often treat patients for whom conservative treatments have failed to provide adequate relief.
What should I expect during my first visit to an interventional pain management practice?
FAQ Answer: During your first visit, the doctor will review your medical history, perform a physical examination, and may order diagnostic tests such as MRIs or X-rays. They will discuss your pain symptoms, previous treatments, and how the pain affects your daily life. Then, they will outline a personalized treatment plan.
How do I prepare for a procedure with an interventional pain management doctor?
FAQ Answer: Preparation may include fasting for a certain period before the procedure, temporarily stopping certain medications, and arranging for transportation home. Your doctor will provide specific instructions based on the procedure you're undergoing. Always inform your doctor of all medications and supplements you're taking.
Will my insurance cover visits to an interventional pain management doctor?
FAQ Answer: Many insurance plans cover interventional pain management treatments, but coverage varies depending on the specific procedure and your insurance policy. Prior to your visit, check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage, and confirm with the pain management practice if they accept your insurance.
